H.O.P.E. began March 29, 1985, in memory of Brett David Simon by his parents, Nancy and Dave.  Brett died March 2, 1983 at the age of 15 from complications of Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy.  Brett was Dave and Nancy’s only child and they felt no one should hurt so much and be left to feel such pain and abandonment.  They found no parents support group to meet these needs in or about Beaver County.
